Nukuʻalofa, Tonga — Friday, 4th April 2025

In a powerful display of unity and shared responsibility, staff from across Tonga Power Limited — including teams from Corporate Services, Engineering, Projects, and Distribution, alongside members of the Senior Leadership Team — came together today for a full-scale cleanup of the Popua Power Station.

This initiative highlighted the importance of maintaining a clean, safe, and respectful working environment — not just for operational efficiency and safety, but also as a reflection of the collective pride and ownership staff have for their workplace and one another.

The strong participation from all levels of the organization — including senior management — reinforced the belief that no role is too small and no one is too senior when it comes to caring for the spaces that support our daily work.

More importantly, the effort served as a reflection of a broader truth: just like our number one priority of improving the reliability of Tonga’s power system depends on the entire TPL team coming together with focused effort, so too does achieving results in any area of our business. The teamwork demonstrated at Popua today is proof of what’s possible when we work together with purpose, urgency, and mutual respect.

CEO’s Message:

"At TPL, we believe a clean working environment reflects the pride we take in our work and in each other," said Scott, CEO of Tonga Power Limited. "The way our people came together today — across all levels — shows that when we are united by a clear goal, we can achieve real results. That’s exactly the mindset we need as we work to improve the reliability of Tonga’s power system: shared responsibility, team spirit, and urgency."

TPL extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to today’s cleanup. It is this spirit of togetherness, commitment, and pride that powers not only our stations, but the future of electricity in Tonga.
