HOW TO READ MY BILL

Tonga Power Limited’s electricity rates reflects the costs of providing a reliable, safe and sustainable power source as well as distributing to all Tongans. 
The following provides you with a brief explanation to help you understand your power bill and to also help you monitor your power usage over time. 

YOUR TPL BILL

This section provides you with your Customer number, customer name and account number. 
Further more this section provides information into the dates for the power that is billed. Contact information for related services are also provided.

BALANCE AND CHARGES

View your payment transaction during the electricity supplied date. Your current power charges is shown together with the governments policy contribution of paying for home owners first 100kwH of electricity usage. This is calculated by multiplying the current electricity tariff by 100kWh to get the total. A $15fee of  is also charged in your bill for waste disposal.
An important section to keep in mind is the due date for your power bill otherwise it will be disconnection.

YOUR POWER USAGE HISTORY

Monitor your average power usage information over the period of 12 months, daily power usage aswell as your average monthly bill amount. 
A kilowatt-hour is the use of one kilowatt of electric power for one hour.

POWER CHARGES USAGE

This table details your meter number, period for invoice date and the calculation for your total bill for the month. 
Total number of units from last bill to current bill is deducted to get the units used by the customer. The unit used is then multiplied by the current electricity tariff to get the total electricity amount for the month.
Keep in mind that this number does not include the Governments contribution and the fee of $15 dollars.
